SME Business Opportunity after SONA, Budget and STATS SA results

South Africa is in a technical recession. So what do we do? Do we put our hands up and give up and do we dig in, prepare ourselves and find ways to get to where we want to be? We have so much untapped potential that we need to release.

On the 3rd March, I was listening to Azania Mosaka on her afternoon show on Talk Radio 702, speaking about this and she had an amazing idea! Her idea was to allow SME businesses to give her a call and give their “elevator pitch” to present their business and ideas to the public. In my opinion, it is this kind of thinking where we have the attitude of helping our fellow South African’s to develop or grow their businesses, which will help lower unemployment rates, help reduce poverty and bring the country closer together. No one was asking for donations. All the businesses were asking for an opportunity to deliver a high quality service or product.

If there is a mindset change to one of support and helping each other with the view that products or services are delivered through hard work, with the highest of ethics, diligence and quality, then trust can be earnt across SME’s, big business and government. As Rugby World Cup Champions - One Team One Nation, so business could be looking for a similar solution to overcoming our hurdles.
